MSEUF joins FDCP Academic Film Society as accredited partner institution
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation formally became an accredited partner institution of the Film Development Council of the Philippines Academic Film Society through a memorandum of agreement that expanded film education, research and exhibition opportunities for its students and faculty.
The partnership marked a milestone for the university, particularly for the College of Arts and Sciences and the MSEUF Communication Society, whose initiative helped bring the accreditation to life. It strengthened the university’s efforts to develop aspiring media practitioners and connect them to a wider network of cinematic resources across the country.
Through the accreditation, MSEUF students and faculty gained access to capacity-building programs, production support, research materials and exhibition platforms from the country’s national film agency. The partnership also reinforced the university’s commitment to advancing regional storytelling and promoting the culture of Quezon Province through digital and cinematic arts.
Among the key benefits of the partnership were training and mentorship opportunities through FDCP Film School workshops for students and media faculty. The accreditation also made MSEUF eligible for the Student Film Assistance Program, which supports student short films and thesis productions.
In addition, the university gained access to the FDCP Media Library, which offers references, archives and Filipino films that can support arts-based research. The partnership also opened more opportunities for Envergan-made films to be showcased on national platforms while strengthening institutional support for local events such as the MSEUF Lente Film Festival.
Dr. Claudia Ayala, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, said the accreditation affirmed the university’s growing role in nurturing creative talent and building meaningful academic linkages in the field of film and media.
“This partnership is a significant step for our students, faculty and the entire academic community. It gives our aspiring storytellers access to national resources and opportunities that will help them develop their craft while highlighting the stories and culture of Quezon Province,” Ayala said.
Ms. Maridel Mangaron, adviser of the MSEUF Communication Society, said the recognition reflected the organization’s dedication to creating opportunities that would benefit future media practitioners.
“We are proud to see this vision come to life. This accreditation is not only a recognition of our efforts as an organization, but also a gateway for our students to learn, create and participate more actively in the country’s film and media landscape,” Mangaron said.
Alexandra Jaballa-Bolusan, adviser of the organization, said the partnership would inspire students to pursue film and communication work with greater purpose and confidence.
“This milestone encourages our students to see that their ideas, stories and creative outputs matter. With the support of the FDCP Academic Film Society, we can continue guiding them toward excellence in storytelling and responsible media practice,” Jaballa-Bolusan said.
The new partnership placed MSEUF in a stronger position to nurture young storytellers, support creative scholarship and widen the reach of regional voices in Philippine cinema.
This milestone reflected MSEUF’s mission of providing responsive and transformative learning opportunities that prepare students for professional practice and meaningful contributions to society. It also showed the university’s commitment to Excellence, Service and Fortitude by giving learners access to national platforms, industry support and creative pathways that elevate Quezon’s stories and culture.
