MSEUF Conducts Exclusive Re-orientation Program for International Students on Library Services

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) conducted a re-orientation program for international students on January 17, to help them maximize library services and resources available on campus.

The Office of Special Internationalization Projects (OSIP), in partnership with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), organized the activity to provide academic support to foreign students enrolled at the university.

Ms. Marielle Peregrin, administrative staff of OSIP, opened the program by addressing the students’ concerns about the Buddy Program before turning them over to the re-orientation session.

Dr. Myrna Casipit, director for university libraries, led the orientation and introduced the library’s facilities and services.

“We want our international students to become confident in using the library independently,” Casipit said. “The orientation ensures that they know how to access both traditional and digital resources for their research and studies.”

During the session, students Benito Frank Shoup, Debra Majekodunmi, and Lance Obay learned how to access digital databases, e-books, and online journals. They also received guidance on navigating the cataloguing system, borrowing procedures, and information literacy services.

Shoup said the session gave him practical knowledge about the library system. “It will make my research easier and help me save time,” he said.

The initiative formed part of MSEUF’s continuing efforts to support international students in their academic journey. “We want them to feel fully integrated into the learning community,” Peregrin said.
