Faculty, students join national simultaneous earthquake drill
To strengthen disaster preparedness, the Health, Safety, and Auxiliary Services Department (HSASD) of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, in partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and the University Disaster Emergency Response Team, conducted the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), Sept. 11.
The event was part of the "Basta Envergan, Ligtas sa Kapahamakan" program of the HSASD.
The drill emphasized the “duck, cover, and hold” procedure and safe evacuation to designated areas.
Faculty, employees, students, and outsourced personnel actively participated, showing the university’s commitment to safety.
Following the activity, the Health and Safety Unit convened a post-evaluation meeting to address observed issues and improve procedures for the next drill, scheduled for Nov. 6.
This activity underscores MSEUF’s mission to uphold safety and unity within the academic community while preparing stakeholders for emergencies through outcomes-oriented education. By embedding disaster preparedness in campus life, the university strengthens its culture of mindfulness, service, and fortitude.
