Nursing, MedTech students begin exchange program in Vietnam

Dr. Jennifer B. Reyes

College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences deployed eight Nursing and Medical Technology students to Vietnam for a 14-day mobility and exchange program at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Nov. 23 to Dec. 6.

The group departed the Philippines aboard Philippine Airlines and arrived in Hanoi to begin their academic and cultural immersion.

Faculty member Catherine Bainto joined the delegation to provide guidance and ensure student welfare throughout the program.

The initiative is part of the EU FLIGHT Program of the MSEUF Global Engagement Office, which supports international collaboration, global competency development, and intercultural learning for students of MSEUF.

The program received support from Dr. Carmina Tolentino, program head, and Dr. Corazon Valdeavilla, dean of CNAHS, whose leadership continues to expand global academic opportunities for students. This batch marks the continuation of the college’s mobility efforts following the success of last year’s Thailand cohort.

During the two-week engagement, students will attend specialized lectures, participate in clinical and laboratory exposures, join skills enhancement sessions, and collaborate in cultural activities hosted by Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy, one of Vietnam’s leading health sciences institutions.

CNAHS expressed pride in its delegates and highlighted that the international experience contributes to the holistic development of future healthcare professionals. The college reaffirmed its commitment to supporting more global mobility initiatives that strengthen academic excellence and international cooperation.

The delegation is expected to return to the Philippines on Dec. 6 carrying new insights, perspectives, and partnerships that will benefit MSEUF and the healthcare community.

The program demonstrates the University’s commitment to Excellence and Service by equipping students with global learning experiences that enhance their professional preparation. It also reflects Unity and Fortitude as the college expands cross-border partnerships that enrich outcomes-oriented and student-centered education.
