CCJC students complete forensic science, disaster management training program in Thailand
Five students from the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC)of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation completed a one-month Intensive Laboratory Training Program at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University in Thailand from Oct. 6 to Nov. 3.
The delegates were Gerard Joshua Canimo, Ma. Franchette Eunice Mabasa, Joaper Ojenal Sante, Angel Villapando, and Althea Gem Villapeña, guided by Dr. Henedina Lagumen, dean of the CCJC.
The program provided hands-on exposure to global practices in public safety, emergency response, and forensic science through a combination of academic instruction, laboratory work, and field-based learning. Key training activities included water sampling tests, life support and injury attention, fire safety drills, and DNA analysis.
Dr. Jonathan Rante Carreon, vice president for academic affairs at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, welcomed the MSEUF delegation and highlighted the significance of preparedness and professionalism in addressing disasters and emergencies.
Aside from the laboratory training, the delegates also joined a Thai cultural immersion at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya, where they experienced the country’s culture and traditions.
Dr. Lagumen thanked HCU for its hospitality and commitment to academic excellence, saying the training developed both the students’ technical competence and their global perspective.
Dr. Jennifer Reyes, director for global engagement, also expressed gratitude to HCU officials and faculty for their collaboration with MSEUF and continued support for international learning initiatives.
The CCJC Intensive Laboratory Training in Thailand underscores MSEUF’s commitment to global academic partnerships and its mission to equip students with transformative, real-world learning experiences that strengthen their professional skills in criminal justice and public safety.
