MSEUF CCJC conducts nation-building, peace-building symposium

The College of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) hosted a symposium focusing on the roles of citizens and institutions in fostering national unity and development, Nov. 24.

The event featured a keynote speech by “Ka Lilay,” a former rebel, who shared her experiences of leaving the rebel movement and reintegrating into society. Her testimony provided insights into the challenges and possibilities of transformation and reintegration for those previously involved in rebellion.

The seminar aimed to highlight the personal journeys of individuals transitioning from lives of conflict to peace and redemption. Through open dialogue and personal narratives, it encouraged understanding, empathy, and community support for those pursuing positive change and peaceful integration.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the symposium promoted SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by fostering peace-building discussions, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by raising student awareness of civic duties and social responsibility, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by emphasizing inclusive societal values.

This event served as an educational platform for students, highlighting the significance of peace-building and the power of personal transformation in national development.
