CCJC conducts orientation to new students, parents


The College of Criminal Justice and Criminology conducted its College Orientation at the BED Covered Court, Aug. 24., where event brought together 267 students and parents, aiming to facilitate a smooth transition into college life by providing essential information and fostering a sense of community.

Dr. Henedina A. Lagumen, dean of the college, initiated the program by welcoming the participants and introducing the faculty members.

The orientation addressed key aspects of university life, including the student services available, the college's policies, and the department's community extension initiatives.

A significant part of the orientation was the introduction of various student organizations, which highlighted the numerous opportunities for students to engage and contribute within the college.

The program also included an open forum, where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with faculty members.

This interactive session ensured that both students and parents clearly understood the expectations and resources available to them. Dr. Monette G. Tenorio, the department chair, concluded the event with final remarks, reinforcing the importance of active involvement and support from both students and parents.

The orientation effectively eased the transition for freshmen and their parents, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to start the academic year on a positive note. It also built a strong sense of community and encouraged active participation, setting the foundation for a successful academic journey.
