CCJC conducts drug awareness, values education seminar at Barra ES
To educate elementary students about the dangers of illegal drugs and the importance of values such as respect, humility, and good conduct, the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC) of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted a seminar on Drug Awareness and Values Education at Barra Elementary School in Brgy. Barra, Lucena City, Nov. 25
This initiative was a collaborative effort involving the CCJC, the Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit of the Quezon Provincial Police Office, and the School Parents-Teacher Association (SPTA).
PSMS Erick Estellar discussed the effects, types, and warning signs of drug use, while PCPL Joy Remoroza focused on instilling good manners and values, underscoring the lessons taught at home and school. PSMS Estellar provided an in-depth discussion on illegal drugs, their harmful effects, and preventive measures. PCPL Remoroza followed with a session emphasizing the importance of good manners and values in shaping the students' character.
Normita Masinsin, President of the SPTA, led the invocation followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Magtanggol Ragas, Principal of Barra Elementary School, delivered the welcoming remarks, while Prof. Dennis Albert Gonzales, CCJC Community Extension Service Coordinator highlighted the University's commitment to supporting its adopted community through seminars and training.
Before the lectures began, organizers distributed school supplies to the participating students, who expressed their gratitude for the gesture.
The program concluded with an open forum where students actively participated by asking questions related to the topics. Certificates of recognition were presented to the resource speakers, and snacks were distributed to the attendees.

MSEUF-C contributed educational expertise, the Community Affairs Unit of the Quezon Provincial Police offered insights on the legal implications of drug use and community safety, and the Parent-Teacher Association ensured family involvement in reinforcing the message. This collaborative effort strengthened the seminar's impact, ensuring it resonated with students, parents, and the wider community.
