In the spirit of the holiday season, the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC) at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) organized a  Christmas gift-giving for 30 students from Barra Elementary School on December 2023.

Dr. Dennis Albert Gonzales,Community Extension Services Coordinator of the College, led the event, with the support of CCJC faculty members including Hazel Asoy, Dominador Termil, Joielyn Dimaano, Ulysses Ranas, and Prof. Fergelyn Canonigo.

The event was also supported by Hazel Valiente, the Barra Elementary School Adopt-a-School Coordinator, and  Magtanggol, the school principal.

The students enjoyed a series of fun games and activities facilitated by members of the Juris Peritus Criminis (JPC) and the College of Management and Allied Sciences (CMAS), further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The event was made possible through generous contributions and donations from CCJC faculty members and students, demonstrating the true essence of Christmas—giving and sharing joy.

"Through this initiative, MSEUF's CCJC demonstrated that Christmas is not just about receiving but, more importantly, about giving and nurturing a sense of community. This event has left a lasting impact on both the students and the organizers, reinforcing the importance of compassion, unity, and collective responsibility," Dr. Gonzales said.

This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities is exemplified by the event's focus on supporting marginalized and vulnerable students, ensuring inclusivity and reducing disparities. SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions is advanced by fostering social accountability and community engagement. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being is addressed as the gift-giving and support contribute positively to the students' emotional and mental well-being. Finally, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals underscores the importance of collaboration between MSEUF-CCJC and Barra Elementary School in meeting the immediate needs of the students and strengthening community ties.
