MSEUF Signs MOU with Sariaya LGU and Herencia Sariaya for Heritage Conservation Projects
In a significant move to preserve local heritage and culture, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Municipal Government of Sariaya and Herencia Sariaya on September 4, 2025, solidifying a partnership for heritage conservation efforts in Sariaya, Quezon.
The collaborative agreement seeks to restore and preserve historical landmarks in the town, including the Municipal Hall and the Sariaya colonial park, which hold deep cultural and architectural value for the community.
Spearheading MSEUF’s involvement is the College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA), under the leadership of Dean Ar. Jennifer Sanchez. The college will provide technical assistance in cultural mapping, the development of design guidelines, and support in the restoration of the Municipal Hall and Rizal Park. These initiatives will highlight and protect Sariaya’s distinct Art Deco heritage and other key historical features within the designated heritage district.
The Municipal Government of Sariaya, led by Mayor Marcelo P. Gayeta, will manage the regulatory framework of the project, ensure compliance with the National Heritage Act of 2009, and oversee procurement and permitting processes.
Meanwhile, Herencia Sariaya, a local cultural organization committed to heritage advocacy, will serve as a key coordinator, ensuring smooth implementation of the projects. It will also take charge of monitoring and reporting progress in collaboration with the involved institutions.
This tripartite partnership aims to foster greater appreciation for Sariaya’s rich historical and cultural identity while contributing to its architectural preservation, educational engagement, and local economic development through cultural tourism and academic collaboration.
