The primary purpose of the project Disaster Relief and Evacuation Center is to provide a centralized temporary shelter in times of disaster to easily address many public concerns and to guide local government for the consideration of public health matters during the establishment and planning of an evacuation center. In cooperation of the City Council, it recognizes its responsibilities to care for persons in need of shelter, warmth and food as a result of a civil emergency, the project in partnership with the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (DRRMC), Department and Social Welfare Development (DSWD), Technology and Livelihood Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Education (DepEd), the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Department of Health (DOH), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) and the Philippine Volcanology Society (PHILVOCS) will act as coordinating and enabling bodies that will bring together the help required to mitigate the effects of a disaster. The case study including site analysis (micro and macro analysis of site) problem analysis, selection of materials, design and structural analysis, planning considerations, alternative design applications were implemented to develop an ideal design that will stand to the complexities of natural and man-made disasters. Therefore, this study sought to enhance system readiness for disaster relief, foster community preparedness and explore strategies to improve disaster recovery by providing human development programs. Aside from the purpose of evacuation, the project will also serve as an alternative and training ground center in the locality that aims to improve the quality of human life.
