Abstract

The research focused on determining the perceptions of CIHTM students on the TESDA National Certification for the different competencies in the Tourism Sector which significantly contributed to their skills, values, and competence. This quantitative research conducted a survey questionnaire among 100 respondents from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students of CIHTM in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. This study used a stratified sampling technique to give focus on two courses of CIHTM: BSTM and BSHRM with a total number of 206 students who already took the NC programs. Results show that students perceived the positive impacts of the National Certification on their abilities, skills, self-assurance in finding the job, and self-esteem. Thus, the researchers proposed the inclusion of skill management study in every TESDA Program that could help the student to learn how they can manage themselves in preparing for their job or business.
