JPAMA, EUJPIA students deepen VAT knowledge through TANGLAW Wave 6

The Junior Philippine Association of Management Accountants and the Enverga University Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants participated in TANGLAW Wave 6: Navigating the Tax Landscape, an academic session that strengthened students’ understanding of value-added tax.
Mariella Perlas, a certified public accountant, facilitated the session and discussed VAT concepts using practical and real-life examples. Her discussion helped students connect classroom lessons with actual tax applications.
Students actively joined the discussion by asking questions and sharing insights throughout the session. Their participation created an interactive learning environment that encouraged curiosity, critical thinking and deeper appreciation of taxation.
The activity gave participants a clearer understanding of VAT and its relevance to accountancy practice. It also exposed them to professional insights that supported their academic learning and motivation.
Overall, TANGLAW Wave 6 strengthened students’ foundation in taxation and promoted active participation in academic discussions. The activity benefited accountancy and management accounting students by helping them better understand tax concepts needed for future professional practice.
