Financial management students support LEAPS planning workshop

Strengthening their leadership and organizational competencies while supporting the program’s implementation, members of the Society of Financial Management Students participated in the Leaders Advancement Programs and Services: Planning Workshop for Student Organizations on July 28 at the Alumni Building.

The workshop gathered presidents and secretaries of various student organizations for orientations and collaborative sessions focused on strategic planning, teamwork, communication and responsible leadership.

Beyond attending the sessions, SFMS members assisted in preparing the venue by arranging tables and chairs before the program and restoring the area after the activity. They also managed the attendance desk, assisted participants during registration and ensured the proper documentation of attendance records.

The volunteers distributed meals provided by the University Collegiate Student Council. Two SFMS members also served as masters of ceremonies, welcoming participants, introducing speakers, announcing the program segments and maintaining the orderly flow of the workshop.

Through their participation, the organization’s representatives gained practical insights into leadership and organizational planning. Their volunteer service also contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the student leaders assembly.

The involvement of SFMS demonstrated teamwork, responsibility and commitment to serving the University community through active participation in leadership development programs.

The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered and experiential learning by allowing students to develop leadership, communication and organizational management skills through direct participation and volunteer service. It also reflected the core values of Service, Excellence and Unity through teamwork, responsible program support and collaboration among student organizations.

• SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — The proper management of registration, attendance records and program responsibilities promoted accountability and effective organizational practices.
