Political Science Society engages freshmen at General Orientation 2026
Encouraging leadership and active campus involvement, the Political Science Society participated in University General Orientation 2026 on July 31 at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Gymnasium.
Before the program, PSS officers and volunteers prepared an interactive booth to welcome incoming freshmen and introduce them to the organization. The booth provided a relaxed environment where students could interact with members and learn about opportunities for involvement.
PSS conducted a card-matching game and a modified true-or-false quiz that allowed freshmen to test their knowledge and participate in friendly challenges. The organization also offered statement pins, which attracted interest from students and added an engaging element to the booth.
Members interviewed several incoming freshmen to learn about their interests and perspectives. Through these conversations, PSS encouraged students to take initiative, explore leadership opportunities and participate in activities that support their personal and academic development.
The activity helped PSS establish connections with the newest members of the University community while creating a welcoming environment for students adjusting to college life. It also promoted active participation in student organizations and other opportunities throughout their University journey.
The activity supported the University’s commitment to student-centered learning by creating opportunities for freshmen to communicate, build connections and explore leadership beyond the classroom. It also reflected the core values of Unity and Excellence by encouraging active participation, confidence and meaningful engagement within the University community.
