Political Science Society joins HANDS-UP EU campaign

The Political Science Society of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation participated in “HANDS-UP EU: A Unified Program for Health, Abuse-Negative, Drug-Free, and Smoke-Free Enverga University” on March 11, at the AEC Little Theater to support the university’s campaign for a safe, healthy and disciplined academic environment.
The Office of Student Affairs and Services organized the initiative to engage student organizations in discussions on health, legal awareness and student welfare.
The program featured lectures on the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, the Anti-Hazing Law, and the health risks linked to tobacco and electronic cigarettes.
Through the sessions, participants gained essential knowledge on legal protections, personal safety and responsible decision-making.
The Political Science Society joined other student organizations in supporting the advocacy for a drug-free and smoke-free campus.
Its participation highlighted the role of student leaders in promoting civic responsibility, public order and active citizenship within the university community.
The activity also helped Political Science students connect their academic understanding of laws, governance and human rights with real-world institutional advocacy.
Organizers thanked the speakers, university officials and student leaders who contributed to the success of the program.
The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Service, Mindfulness and Fortitude by promoting health awareness, legal responsibility and student welfare. It also supported experiential learning by allowing Political Science students to see how laws and policies apply in campus advocacy and community leadership.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – The program promoted drug-free and smoke-free lifestyles to support the physical and mental well-being of students.
- SDG 4: Quality Education – The activity provided students with knowledge on health risks, legal protections and responsible decision-making.
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – The discussions on anti-hazing and anti-trafficking laws strengthened awareness of justice, safety and institutional accountability.
