Student representatives from the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers joined the SAFE-EU Self-Defense and Safety Training Program on March 6 at Enverga University to strengthen their awareness of personal safety, emergency preparedness and basic self-defense.

The University Collegiate Student Council spearheaded the whole-day activity, which gathered accredited student organizations across the university for discussions and hands-on training focused on student welfare and protection.

The seminar proper took place at the St. Bonaventure Student Center, while the practical training sessions were held at the DT Room of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology Building.

Participants learned practical safety measures, situational response techniques and basic self-defense skills that may help them respond to real-life encounters.

The program also emphasized discipline, confidence and presence of mind during emergencies and unexpected situations. Through guided demonstrations and interactive activities, students applied the lessons they learned during the training sessions.

Through its participation, the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers reaffirmed its support for programs that promote student development, safety awareness and responsible campus engagement.

The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service and Fortitude by encouraging students to stay prepared, alert and responsible in protecting themselves and others. It also supported student-centered and transformative learning by providing practical experiences that promote confidence, discipline and civic responsibility.
