Industrial engineering student chapter welcomes new Therbligs

Preparing aspiring industrial engineers for active organizational involvement and professional growth, the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers–MSEUF Student Chapter welcomed its newest members during the General Orientation for the Therbligs on July 31.

The organization introduced its Executive Board, Membership Committee and Publication Committee, allowing the new members to become familiar with the officers who will guide and support them throughout academic year 2026-27.

Officers also discussed the organization’s Constitution and Bylaws, including its vision, mission, core values, goals, objectives and key policies. The session emphasized leadership, professionalism, teamwork and service as principles that members should uphold through active participation.

The orientation highlighted the achievements of PIIE members and alumni and presented the organization’s proposed activities for the academic year. These included a site visit designed to provide students with exposure to industrial settings and professional practices.

Members also learned about certifications available to industrial engineering students, including the Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Supply Chain Management Foundation Certification and Project Management Foundation Certification. The discussion encouraged students to pursue continuous learning and professional development while completing their undergraduate studies.

During an interactive activity, the Therbligs introduced themselves in groups of three and presented talents through singing, dancing and acting. The activity created a welcoming environment, strengthened camaraderie and helped members build confidence and new connections.

The program concluded with a group photo of the officers and Therbligs, marking the beginning of a new academic year and encouraging the organization’s newest members to contribute actively to the growth of the student chapter.

The orientation supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by introducing students to leadership, professional development and industry-related learning opportunities. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Unity and Service by promoting continuous learning, teamwork and active organizational participation.
