Strengthening peer support and collaborative learning, second-year Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering students participated in IE Mentorlink Session 1 on Aug. 29 through Zoom.
The peer-learning activity provided students with an opportunity to discuss challenging subjects and topics, particularly Statistics and Integral Calculus, ask questions and exchange ideas based on their learning experiences.
Participants reviewed difficult concepts and shared explanations that helped their peers better understand lessons they had previously found challenging. The session also encouraged students to communicate academic concerns and become more comfortable seeking assistance from fellow IE students.
Beyond subject discussions, students shared study techniques, time-management practices and preparation strategies that they could apply to their classes and assessments.
The session helped participants clarify academic concepts while strengthening communication, knowledge-sharing and camaraderie. It also fostered a supportive environment where students could work together toward academic improvement.
Through IE Mentorlink, the participants demonstrated the value of peer learning and teamwork in helping students navigate academic challenges and support one another throughout their engineering education.
The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s student-centered and collaborative learning approaches by encouraging students to take an active role in one another’s academic development. It also reflected the core values of Unity, Excellence and Service through knowledge-sharing, peer support and collective efforts toward academic improvement.
- SDG 4: Quality Education — The peer-learning session strengthened students’ understanding of challenging subjects while promoting study skills, collaboration and academic support.
