Promoting responsible pet ownership and accessible animal health services, the Protect Every Tail Society, in partnership with Cats of Quezon Province and Zootary Veterinary Services, conducted “The Ultimate Snip Season 2: A PETSoc Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Drive & EU-Exclusive Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive” on Sept. 19 at the Basic Education Department Covered Court of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.

The daylong initiative provided low-cost spay and neuter services and free anti-rabies vaccination to help address unplanned animal reproduction, support disease prevention and encourage responsible care for pets within the University and surrounding community.

PETSoc officers, members and volunteers assisted with registration, pet drop-off, client coordination and event logistics. PETSoc President Sylvia Ann Regis and Cats of Quezon Province representative Ken Talabis welcomed participants before clients received information on the procedures and what to expect throughout the activity.

The veterinary team led the spay, neuter and vaccination procedures, while Talabis conducted a post-operation briefing before pets were released to their owners. PETSoc members and volunteers also assisted participants throughout the process to help maintain an organized flow of activities.

Sponsors Majesty, AlphaPro and Nutrichunks supported the initiative by distributing free dog and cat food to participants. PETSoc also recognized the veterinary team with a certificate of appreciation for its contribution to the activity.

Through the project, PETSoc strengthened its animal welfare advocacy by connecting pet owners with veterinary services and information on spaying, neutering, vaccination and post-procedure care. The activity also provided members with practical experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement and responsible animal welfare service.

The activity supported MSEUF’s commitment to community service and responsible citizenship by promoting animal welfare, disease prevention and responsible pet ownership. It also reflected the core values of Service, Mindfulness and Unity through volunteerism and collaboration among students, animal welfare advocates, veterinary professionals and private-sector partners.
