Highlighting innovation, talent and appreciation within the nursing community, the Enverga University Student Nurses Association, in collaboration with the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences - Departament Student Council, held its Nurses’ Day Celebration on at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation gymnasium, Oct. 8.

The event brought together nursing students and faculty members for a full-day program designed to recognize the profession’s commitment to service while promoting academic excellence and creativity.

The celebration opened with a tribute to faculty members, featuring a student singing performance and a video presentation containing Teachers’ Day messages, photos with clinical instructors and appreciation notes from students. Organizers said the segment aimed to express gratitude for the faculty’s role in guiding future nurses. A technology presentation followed, where a partner company introduced virtual reality tools used in nursing and medical education. Students and instructors participated in hands-on demonstrations, allowing them to experience simulation-based learning designed to enhance clinical skills and engagement.

Academic excellence was highlighted through a Quiz Bee covering key nursing disciplines such as medical-surgical nursing, anatomy and physiology, maternal and child health and community health nursing. The competition encouraged teamwork, critical thinking and active participation among students.

Afternoon activities shifted to creative expression, beginning with “Nursing’s Got Talent,” where students showcased performances in singing, dancing, spoken word and instrumental presentations. The segment emphasized the importance of balancing academic responsibilities with self-expression. The event also featured a Nursing Theorist Look-Alike Contest, where participants portrayed prominent figures in nursing history while presenting their contributions to the field. Organizers said the activity combined entertainment with educational value.

The celebration concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing winners of the competitions, along with raffle draws that added excitement and engagement throughout the program.

Organizers said the event strengthened unity, pride and camaraderie among nursing students and faculty. By combining academic activities, technological innovation and creative performances, the celebration promoted the holistic development of future nurses.
