The Niels Mulder Scholarship Foundation, together with recognized student organizations, staff and faculty members of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, conducted a tree planting activity on Feb. 10, in San Lorenzo, Villa Hulyana, to promote environmental awareness, community involvement and sustainable practices.

The initiative gathered nearly 79 participants composed of scholars and volunteers who planted dwarf coconut seedlings in support of environmental preservation and long-term community development.

The activity began at 6 a.m. with the registration of participants at the MSEUF Alumni Building, followed by their departure to the planting site at 6:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, participants attended an orientation on the flow of activities and the importance of tree planting in advancing environmental sustainability.

A Memorandum of Agreement signing was also held to formalize the partnership and commitment between participating organizations and the host community.

After the formal program, participants proceeded with the tree planting proper, where NMSF members and partner organizations worked together to prepare the soil, plant seedlings and ensure proper placement.

Organizers said the activity successfully promoted environmental stewardship, civic responsibility and inter-organizational cooperation within the university.

Participants said the initiative strengthened unity among scholars and volunteers while reinforcing NMSF’s commitment to service and sustainable development.

The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service and Unity by encouraging scholars and volunteers to care for the environment and work together for a shared community purpose. It also supported transformative learning by allowing participants to take part in practical sustainability efforts beyond the classroom.
