Enverga Bar Flippers win top honors at MAFBEX competition


LUCENA CITY — The Enverga Bar Flippers of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation won the championship at the Manila Food and Beverage Expo at the World Trade Center after competing against 30 hospitality schools from across the country through standout performances in flairtending and talking bartending.
Representing MSEUF-Lucena, Jessalyne Ladesma impressed judges with a polished flairtending routine anchored on a bold cocktail that combined ube and passion fruit. Her performance highlighted technical precision, creativity and confidence on the national stage.
Aufranc Aguila also delivered a strong showing in the Talking Bartending category by presenting a heritage-inspired drink and story centered on his lolo’s pamana, or heritage. His entry featured mango leaves, bayabas and sambong, blending storytelling with beverage innovation.
The combined performances of Ladesma and Aguila earned MSEUF the Champion and 1st Place title, further strengthening the reputation of the Enverga Bar Flippers in national hospitality competitions.
The achievement reflected not only the students’ technical skill but also their ability to promote Filipino identity through creative beverage concepts. By incorporating local flavors and meaningful narratives, the team showed how hospitality can celebrate both craft and culture.
The victory brought pride to the university and affirmed the growing excellence of its hospitality students in national-level competitions. It also served as an inspiration to fellow Envergans pursuing careers in food, beverage and tourism-related industries.
This achievement reflected MSEUF’s commitment to learning by doing and outcomes-oriented education by allowing students to demonstrate hospitality skills in a highly competitive national setting.
