MSEUF Communication Society supports Lente 2025 film festival

The MSEUF Communication Society served as the official production team for “MSEUF Lente 2025,” a two-day film festival held Nov. 20 and 21 at the AEC Little Theatre to highlight stories from indigenous communities in Quezon.
Carrying the theme “Katutubo,” the festival provided a platform for indigenous voices and gave audiences a deeper understanding of their present conditions, experiences and calls for social action.
Seventeen society members handled technical and organizational duties for the event, including coordination with participating filmmakers and support for the overall festival production.
Organizers said the films “touched the hearts of the audience” and showed the value of using film as a tool for cultural awareness, empathy and community engagement.
A post-event assessment identified strong coordination between the production team and filmmakers, as well as the emotional impact of the featured films, as major strengths of the project. It also cited budget limitations, unforeseen circumstances and possible technical concerns involving sound and lighting systems as areas for improvement in future installments.
MSEUF Communication Society President Randell Randy Roperez led the project, with guidance from faculty advisers Alexandra Jaballa-Bolusan and Maridel Mangaron.
Although the project reported no direct expenses, the society plans to secure future partnerships and sponsorships with external organizations to expand the reach and impact of succeeding film festivals.
The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to transformative and student-centered learning by allowing communication students to apply production, coordination and storytelling skills in a meaningful cultural project. It reflected the University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service, Excellence and Unity by promoting cultural understanding, collaboration and responsible media practice.
