Enverga University Student Nurses Association assisted in the Blood Donation Drive 2026 organized by EUPHISMET on Feb. 3, 2026, at St. Bonaventure, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation main campus, to help ensure safe and efficient blood collection for patients who need transfusions.

The activity ran from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and aimed to support patients undergoing surgeries, facing emergencies or trauma, or managing chronic illnesses such as anemia and cancer. It also promoted volunteerism and community health awareness among students.

A total of 23 EUSNA officers and student volunteers joined the initiative and helped prepare the venue by arranging chairs and tables for donors and staff.

The student nurses also assisted in the initial donor screening by taking vital signs, recording weight and gathering essential health information to help determine donor eligibility.

After the donation, EUSNA members monitored donors’ vital signs, observed possible adverse reactions, extended immediate care when needed and provided health education on proper post-donation practices.

Senior student nurses coordinated with EUPHISMET personnel to help ensure smooth implementation throughout the activity, while EUSNA officers supervised volunteers to maintain safe care practices and accurate health information delivery.

“The activity strengthened our skills in communication, teamwork and clinical care while allowing us to serve patients and donors in a meaningful way,” a student volunteer said.

Organizers said the activity benefited both patients in need of blood transfusions and donors who received free health screening and education on the value of regular blood donation.

The initiative also reinforced the University’s commitment to community engagement and health promotion through student-led service. EUPHISMET and the Department Student Council provided the materials and supplies, so the activity incurred no expenses.

The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Excellence and Unity by allowing student nurses to contribute directly to a life-saving health initiative. It also supported outcomes-oriented and student-centered education by giving learners hands-on clinical experience while responding to real community needs.
