Mathematics Society grants learners’ wishes through Christmas outreach
The Mathematics Society of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation partnered with the College of Education Community Extension Services in implementing “Adopt a Wish Year 6,” a Christmas outreach initiative that brought joy and support to learners from adopted partner schools.
Held on Nov. 28 at the AE Building, the activity gathered the collective efforts of Mathematics Society members in responding to the wishes of students from elementary and secondary schools under the CED-CES program.
As a partner organization, the Mathematics Society adopted and fulfilled 15 wishes from selected learners, demonstrating its commitment to service, compassion and community engagement.
The initiative aimed not only to provide gifts during the holiday season but also to promote generosity and empathy among student leaders. Through the project, members reflected on the value of sharing blessings and extending support to children who may have limited access to resources and opportunities.
All requested items were successfully collected, prepared and delivered to the CED-CES chairperson on Nov. 28 for distribution to the recipients. The fulfilled wishes reflected the collective generosity of the organization’s members and their willingness to support meaningful community-centered programs.
Beneficiaries came from Elvira Razon Elementary School, BLISS Elementary School, Lucena West 1 Elementary School, Mayao Crossing Elementary School, Zaballero Elementary School, Lucena City National High School and Gulang-Gulang National High School.
Students expressed joy and excitement as they received the gifts they had wished for. The simple act of granting their requests made many children feel remembered and valued during the holiday season.
Volunteers said the project strengthened the organization’s culture of volunteerism and social responsibility while creating a positive impact on young learners. The activity was conducted without organizational expenses and served as a meaningful expression of the spirit of Christmas.
The initiative aligned with Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s mission of developing socially responsible individuals through student-centered and experiential learning. It also reflected the core values of Service, Mindfulness, Unity and Excellence by encouraging students to respond to community needs with compassion, generosity and collaborative action.
