The Mathematics Society of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted its General Orientation for Aspiring Neophytes on Aug. 1 at AEC 202 to introduce prospective members to the organization’s mission, vision, programs and membership process.

The activity gathered 10 members and followed a hybrid setup, allowing participants to attend in person or virtually through Microsoft Teams. The orientation familiarized interested students, known as aspiring Wizards, with the organization and its role in supporting the academic and personal growth of future educators.

During the session, Mathematics Society officers presented the organization’s goals, core values and major activities. They also discussed the requirements and procedures for becoming official members.

The orientation gave aspiring members a clearer understanding of the opportunities, responsibilities and benefits of joining the organization. It also served as a venue for current members and prospective recruits to build connections through introductions and open discussions.

Several aspiring neophytes expressed interest in joining the organization after the orientation, reflecting the activity’s success in promoting membership and student involvement. The project benefited College of Education students and was conducted without expenses.

The activity encouraged students to take part in organization-based learning experiences that promote leadership, collaboration and service within the academic community.

The activity aligned with Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered learning and leadership development. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Unity, Mindfulness and Service by encouraging student participation, responsible membership and meaningful engagement in the university community.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education – The orientation promoted student engagement, leadership development and participation in academic organizations that support learning.
