OSA workshop strengthens student organization planning and leadership


Strengthening the planning, leadership and project management competencies of student organization officers and members, the Office of Student Affairs conducted a workshop on sustainable organizational planning, University procedures and effective project development.
Mr. Lagman emphasized the importance of aligning organizational plans, activities and projects with the vision, mission and objectives of both the organization and the University. He also discussed sustainability in action, the core principles of a sustainable university and the integration of sustainable practices into organizational initiatives.
The session included a detailed discussion of the Permit to Conduct Activity and Request for Venue process. Mr. Lagman explained the required information, submission procedures and timelines to help student organizations prepare activity proposals that comply with University requirements.
Ms. Salas facilitated a planning workshop that highlighted how well-developed plans provide clear direction, promote efficient resource use, manage risks, improve team coordination and support adaptability. She also discussed situation analysis, SWOT analysis, stakeholder analysis, resource and time management, risk management, collaboration, communication, monitoring and evaluation, reflection and learning, and the integration of ethics and sustainability.
The workshop strengthened participants’ knowledge of organizational planning, project management and leadership. It also improved their understanding of University documentation processes and equipped them to design, implement and assess purposeful, sustainable and goal-oriented projects that support their organizations and the wider University community.
The workshop supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by helping student leaders apply strategic planning, collaboration, resource management and project evaluation skills. It also reflected the core values of Mindfulness, Service, Excellence and Unity by promoting responsible leadership, ethical decision-making and sustainable organizational practices.
