The Enverga University Student Nurses Association served as the first aid response team during Intramurals 2025 at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation on Nov. 6 and 7, deploying 34 officers and volunteers across key venues to help ensure the safety of athletes, students and spectators.

EUSNA assigned responders at the Gymnasium, Twin Court, DT Building, USTC and Swimming Pool, where they provided immediate medical assistance to participants who sustained minor injuries or experienced physical discomfort during the games.

The team attended to cases such as sprains, abrasions, muscle cramps and fatigue. Responders performed vital signs monitoring, cold compress application, guided stretching, bandaging and the application of ointments and liniments.

“The presence of trained responders provided reassurance to everyone involved in the activities,” a volunteer said, underscoring the value of accessible medical support during large-scale university events.

The university canceled intramural events scheduled on Nov. 8 and 10 due to the onset of a typhoon to help protect the university community. Despite the shortened schedule, EUSNA maintained readiness and delivered timely care during the first two days of the event.

The initiative strengthened safety and preparedness during Intramurals 2025. It also allowed EUSNA volunteers to demonstrate competence in first aid response, teamwork and situational awareness while gaining hands-on experience in emergency care.

Athletes and student participants received immediate medical attention, while EUSNA members enhanced their skills and confidence in real-life response situations. The University Medical and Dental Clinic supported the project by providing essential supplies, with additional contributions from EUSNA volunteers. The activity incurred no expenses.

The initiative reflected MSEUF’s commitment to student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by allowing nursing students to apply classroom learning in a real event setting. It also embodied the core values of Service, Excellence, Unity and Fortitude as student volunteers worked together to safeguard the university community.
