The Enverga University Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants placed among the top finalists in the 20th Alfredo M. Velayo Cup at the STI Holdings Building on Feb. 21, showcasing the students’ technical competence, teamwork and readiness for the accounting profession.

The AMV Cup, the flagship academic competition of the University of Santo Tomas Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, honors the late Alfredo M. Velayo and his contributions to the accountancy profession.

EUJPIA competed against accounting students from across the country in a rigorous contest that tested participants’ mastery of accounting principles, decision-making skills and ability to perform under time pressure.

Represented by two teams with three members each, EUJPIA advanced through the elimination rounds through collaboration, focus and sound technical judgment. Team 1 earned a place in the Top 15 finalists and finished 11th overall.

The competition also emphasized time management, teamwork and the ability to reconcile differing viewpoints in solving complex accounting problems. Through their participation, the student representatives strengthened their preparation for future professional licensure examinations and industry practice.

The achievement reflects Enverga University’s commitment to Excellence, Service and Fortitude by supporting students in academic competitions that sharpen professional skills and build confidence beyond the classroom. It also advances the University’s goal of producing graduates with research-based knowledge, leadership and managerial skills, and professionalism.
