The MSEUF Communication Society served as the official production team for the Banyuhay Awards 2026 on April 27, managing the ceremony from AEC Room 105-106 as the event shifted to an online format.

Carrying the theme “Sining at Kultura: Kasaysayan Bilang Ugat, Midya Bilang Tinig,” the awards program celebrated excellence in local media and culture while recognizing individuals and groups for their contributions to the field.

An 18-member MCS production team handled the technical and organizational requirements of the digital ceremony. The online format aimed to expand the event’s reach, promote wider recognition of the awardees and reduce operational costs.

Organizers said the transition to a digital platform also opened opportunities for external partnerships and sponsorships. In its project report, the society said the event did more than honor awardees; it helped create a space where “arts and culture thrive” and inspired pride within the university community.

A post-event assessment cited the program’s successful recognition of awardees and its continued cultural impact as major strengths. It also identified areas for improvement, including limited personal interaction and the event’s dependence on stable technology.

Society President Randell Randy Roperez led the project under the supervision of faculty advisers Alexandra Jaballa-Bolusan and Maridel Mangaron.

Through the Banyuhay Awards 2026, MCS showed its ability to adapt student-led media production to a modern, digital-first environment while helping elevate campus media initiatives toward broader standards of excellence.

The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to transformative and outcomes-oriented education by allowing communication students to apply production, media management and event coordination skills in a digital platform. It reflected the University’s core values of Excellence, Service, Unity and Fortitude through cultural advocacy, teamwork and adaptive student leadership.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education — The activity provided experiential learning in digital production, media practice and event management.
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure — The online format encouraged innovation in student-led media production and digital event delivery.
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities — The awards promoted local arts, culture and media as part of community identity and heritage.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — The event created opportunities for collaboration with external partners and sponsors to expand its reach.
