Members of the MSEUF DOST Scholars’ Guild joined a tree-planting activity on Feb. 10, 2026, at the MSEUF Forest Research Site to support environmental sustainability and mark the 79th founding anniversary of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.

Faculty members and students from various university organizations participated in the initiative, including scholars Charish De Ocampo and Jhon Lloyd Valencia, who contributed to the collective reforestation effort.

The program opened on campus with messages highlighting environmental initiatives and partnerships before participants proceeded to the forest research site for the planting activity.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the University and the Philippine Coconut Authority, which strengthened collaboration on coconut planting and sustainability programs.

Participants planted 100 coconut seedlings donated by the Philippine Coconut Authority–Quezon, supporting long-term ecological sustainability and environmental conservation efforts.

Organizers said the activity emphasized the importance of reforestation and showcased the role of academic institutions in promoting environmental advocacy through collaboration with partner agencies.

The initiative also provided students with hands-on experience in sustainability efforts while reinforcing awareness of environmental responsibility.

The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Unity and Mindfulness by engaging students and partners in a shared environmental cause. It also supported transformative learning by allowing students to take part in real-world sustainability initiatives.

  • SDG 13 – Climate Action: Tree planting supported efforts to mitigate environmental impact and promote climate resilience.
  • SDG 15 – Life on Land: The activity contributed to reforestation and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems.
  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority strengthened sustainability initiatives through partnership.
