To help first-year psychology students build connections and find their place in the University community, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Psychological Society of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) held its annual Psych-Salubong on Oct. 16, 2026, at the AEC Little Theatre and activity stations across campus.

The event carried the theme “La Familia de Psicología: Embracing the Melodies of Connection, the Spirit of Belonging, and the Wonder of Becoming in Psychology.” It brought together 54 first-year psychology students, society officers, committee members, members and alumni.

Resource speakers Alviña Bolo and Sherie Ann Gayeta led the morning seminars, “Psychology of Motivation” and “Psychology of Purpose.” The discussions explored what drives people to pursue their goals and how students could recognize their motivations and develop a sense of purpose in their academic and personal lives.

The afternoon program included the Traditional Handshake and six interactive stations inspired by the film “Coco.” Students took part in getting-to-know-you activities, memory games, dream-related questions, music challenges, a freeze-and-go game and a team treasure hunt.

The stations gave participants opportunities to express themselves, communicate and work together. Teams followed clues, solved puzzles and completed challenges designed to encourage interaction among psychology students.

Society adviser Janela Reis Babaran-Sinag joined the activity, along with former society presidents Bon Morales, Roger Manalo Jr. and Zahra Reyes. The program also acknowledged alumni and former presidents for their contributions to the organization.

The event concluded with the announcement of winners, a kamustahan session and photo opportunities.

Psych-Salubong supported MSEUF’s commitment to holistic student development by combining discussions on motivation and purpose with activities that encouraged cooperation and self-expression. It reflected the core values of Mindfulness and Unity by inviting students to reflect on their goals and build connections within the psychology community.

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. Discussions on motivation and purpose, together with opportunities for peer interaction, supported students’ personal well-being and adjustment to university life.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education. The seminars and interactive activities complemented classroom learning through reflection, communication, teamwork and engagement within the academic community.
