CBA holds Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition 2025 to select BSP Quiz Bee contenders

Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines – Enverga Chapter

LUCENA CITY, Philippines — Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation held the Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition on Aug. 29, 2025, at the Ysmael V. Baysa Student Center Operations Hall, aiming to identify and prepare students for higher-level academic quiz competitions in finance.

The competition was led by College of Business and Accountancy trainers Jim B. Acuzar and John Rabe, with officers of the Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (JFINEX) serving as members of the organizing committees. The activity sought to promote academic excellence and intellectual competitiveness among students from different year levels.

Thirteen students participated in the contest, including three representatives from JFINEX. The competition consisted of 38 questions in identification and multiple-choice formats designed to assess participants’ knowledge and competence in finance.

At the conclusion of the event, five third-year BS Accountancy students were named finalists and earned the opportunity to advance to the Academic Team Elimination Quiz Bee and eventually represent the university in the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas competition. The top performers were Austin Ng, who placed first, followed by Jaztine Junio, Gabriel Pacaigue, Jade Kimberly Padilla and Lexian Santidad.

The activity benefited College of Business and Accountancy student participants and was supported with a budget of P1,300 funded by the CBA Department Student Council.

The Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition forms part of the university’s continuing efforts to strengthen student preparation for external academic contests and professional development in the field of finance.
