SFMS joins Dean’s Cup to test campus knowledge, quick thinking

Strengthening students’ awareness of their academic environment, the Society of Financial Management Students participated in the Dean’s Cup on Sept. 24 at RBA Hall.

The competition challenged participants with questions about school facilities, professors, campus infrastructure and other aspects of the academic community, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, quick thinking and familiarity with the University.

Before the competition, participating representatives received a briefing on the mechanics and flow of the activity. They then proceeded to the question-and-answer portion, where attentiveness and knowledge gained from everyday campus experiences played an important role.

Through the activity, SFMS representatives applied observation, recall and critical thinking while representing their organization in a friendly academic competition.

The Dean’s Cup also encouraged students to become more familiar with the people, facilities and resources that form part of their university experience, strengthening their connection with the academic community.

SFMS’ participation contributed to student engagement beyond the classroom by combining learning, awareness and healthy competition in a college-based activity.

The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s student-centered approach to education by encouraging students to learn from and engage more deeply with their academic environment. It also reflected the core values of Mindfulness, Excellence and Unity through attentiveness, active participation and collaboration within the University community.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education — The competition promoted interactive learning, critical thinking and knowledge-sharing beyond the traditional classroom setting.
  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — The activity encouraged responsible participation, cooperation and greater awareness of the institutions and resources that support students’ academic life.
