AGHAM facilitates first Math Quest; Mathematics Society celebrates Pi day
In line with celebrating the Pi Day by holding its first Math Quest, the Mathematics Society in cooperation with A Group Harvesting Acquired Knowledge through Scientific Method (AGHAM) brought students together through mathematics-themed challenges and collaborative activities, AE Building, March 13.
Pi Day, observed annually on March 14 and represented by the mathematical constant 3.14, has been recognized since the 1980s as an informal celebration of mathematics. The occasion is widely observed by mathematics enthusiasts through activities centered on the concept of pi and related educational events.
For this year's celebration, the Mathematics Society organized four main activities: the Math Wizard Quest, Online Quiz Contest, Pi Art Contest, and Meme-Making Contest.
To support the event, the Mathematics Society invited AGHAM to serve as facilitators for the Math Quest, allowing the Wizards to fully participate in the activities. Participants were grouped into teams and challenged to complete five stations featuring different puzzle-solving activities. The team that finished all stations in the shortest time emerged as the winner.
Although AGHAM served in a supporting role, its participation contributed to strengthening collaboration between student organizations in the College of Education. The activity also reinforced their shared commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering a passion for education.
The collaboration between the Mathematics Society and AGHAM reflects Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation's commitment to student-centered learning and learning by doing by providing opportunities for students to apply problem-solving and teamwork in an engaging academic setting.
