The CAS Psychological Society participated in the Pantawid-Gutom Pantry Para sa mga Tsuper ng University Site on April 17, to support jeepney drivers from the University Site and their families through food assistance.

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation organized the initiative through the Community Relations Department in coordination with various groups from the College of Arts and Sciences.

CPS took the lead in providing rice, a basic food staple for the beneficiaries.

Members of the organization also extended personal monetary contributions to support the outreach effort.

Through the initiative, CPS translated compassion and social responsibility into concrete service for members of the local transport sector.

The activity also helped students recognize the important role of jeepney drivers in serving the university community.

By joining the pantry, CPS strengthened its commitment to community building, social empathy and meaningful student involvement in humanitarian service.

The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Service, Mindfulness and Unity by encouraging students to support local workers with compassion and shared responsibility. It also supported transformative learning by allowing students to practice empathy, civic duty and community engagement beyond the classroom.

  • SDG 1: No Poverty – The pantry provided immediate assistance to jeepney drivers and their families.
  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger – The rice donation helped address basic food needs among the beneficiaries.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – The initiative extended support to local transport workers who may face economic challenges.
