CAS Social Sciences Society joins LEAPS, earns recognition at MSEUF
The CAS Social Sciences Society joined about 70 student leaders during the Leadership Advancement Program and Services (LEAPS) and awarding ceremony of accredited organizations held Jan. 9, at the University Library Seminar Hall of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation to strengthen digital documentation, transparency and student leadership.
University Digital Content Creator Simon Romuel Uy led the Microsite Training, where he explained the purpose and benefits of the new university microsite as the official platform for publishing organizational news and updates. He discussed proper use of the platform in line with university standards and guided participants through its features.
Uy also instructed student leaders to write news articles about their completed activities as part of their hands-on training and familiarization with the website. The exercise aimed to sharpen writing skills while promoting accurate documentation and transparency among organizations.
After the workshop, the University recognized active and accredited student organizations through a certificate awarding ceremony that honored their contributions during the previous academic year. The recognition encouraged student leaders to further strengthen their initiatives and campus involvement.
Organizers concluded the program with reminders on compliance requirements, including timely submission of documents for off-campus activities, to avoid delays in processing and ensure adherence to institutional guidelines.
Through LEAPS, members of the CAS Social Sciences Society enhanced their competencies in news writing, digital publishing and organizational documentation, skills they will continue to develop in the coming terms.
The LEAPS program reflected the University’s commitment to Excellence and Unity by equipping student leaders with practical communication and documentation skills that support accountable and transparent governance. The activity also embodied student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by allowing participants to apply learning through actual writing and digital publishing tasks.
