Chairman’s Cup action continues in Catanauan

The excitement of the fourth Chairman’s Cup rolled on in Enverga Catanauan on Thursday, January 22. Students and athletes from all campuses gathered for another action-packed leg of the tournament that continues to strengthen the spirit of friendly competition. 

 

Student-athletes from all campuses gather before the stage, as the Bobcats, Wildcats, Cheetahs, Panthers, Jaguars, and Lynx stand united in Enverga Catanauan 

 

In today's games 5 to 8 of the Chairman's Cup, Enverga-Lucena Wildcats, Enverga-Candelaria Jaguars, Enverga-Catanauan Panthers, Enverga-Sampaloc Lynx claimed victories, respectively, as the tournament carried on.

Lucena Wildcats crushed the San Antonio Cheetahs with a score of113–53, while the Jaguars narrowly beat the Sampaloc Lynx 93–85. The Catanauan Panthers edged out the Calauag Bobcats 96–91, and the Sampaloc Lynx closed the day with another 96–91 win over the San Antonio Cheetahs, keeping the tournament standings tight and competitive.

Today's opening ceremony started with the welcoming remarks of MSEUF-Catanauan School Administrator Dr. Nova M. Rodil, who welcomed all the students and school heads across different campuses. Her message encouraged participants to embrace the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. 

Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario R. Opistan followed with a message on sportsmanship. He also provided a brief history of how the Chairman's Cup continually evolved over the years to showcase the talents of Envergans, from cheerdancing to singing.

Vice President for External Relations Celso D. Jaballa and Coordinator for Affiliate Schools Dr. Amelita O. Balagtas also gave their respective words of encouragement, motivating students to give their best while enjoying the experience of the competition.

Before the games commenced, the Enverga-Catanauan Panthers, together with the PAC All-Star Dance Troupe, delivered a special performance that energized the crowd and set the tone for the day’s events.
