Lucena Wildcats, Candelaria Jaguars to face off for Chairman’s Cup championship
Semifinals of the ongoing Chairman’s Cup were held at Enverga-Candelaria Gymnasium on February 9, determining the teams that will advance to the championship game of the tournament scheduled for Friday, February 13. Lucena Wildcats and Candelaria Jaguars emerged victorious in their respective matchups.
In the first semifinal game, Lucena Wildcats claimed a decisive 65-32 win over the Catanauan Panthers. Candelaria Jaguars followed with a 60-39 win against Sampaloc Lynx in the second game.
Before the championship game on Friday, Sampaloc Lynx and Catanauan Panthers will compete against each other in the battle for third place. Both the third-place round and the championship match will be held at the University Gymnasium of Enverga-Lucena.
Today’s ceremony formally opened with remarks from Dr. Crystal Quintana, School Administrator of Enverga-Catanauan, followed by a message from the Municipal Administrator James Daryl Rumbaoa, who represented the local government of Candelaria. Dr. Amelita O. Balagtas, Coordinator of School Affiliates, also delivered an inspirational message to the audience.
To add vibrancy to the audience before the first match, Enverga Dance Troupe and the MSEUF-CI Striding Jaguars Drum Corps gave intermission performances. As master of ceremonies, John Paulo S. Manalo also energized the atmosphere of the match.
