With its constant goal to uphold the advocacy of environmental sustainability and global governance, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation joined the Airlangga International Conference on Climate Diplomacy (AICD) 2025, participated by international delegates at Surabaya, Indonesia, Nov. 8-9.

MSEUF was represented by Mr. Arby Lagman, the Director of the Sustainability Department and the sole delegate from the Philippines among the 92 participants across the globe.

“It was a strange and powerful feeling — talking about climate diplomacy and sustainability while my own country faced the harsh realities of the climate crisis,” Lagman stated in a social media post highlighting the relevance of the conference to the present weather conditions of the country, timely to the schedule of the convention.

“The timing served as a strong reminder that what we advocate for in global spaces has direct impacts on lives back home,” he added.

With the theme “Youth-Driven Climate Change for a More Sustainable Future,” the assembly of young leaders, scholars, and professionals from various countries highlights the role of the youth towards climate change, with the potential of producing policies and real actions to preserve the world’s sustainability.

Unlike other fora, AICD 2025 offers an international seminar on youth and climate action, Seed Parade and Climate Wellness, and SDGs Service Day, a community service designed to engage the delegates in real action with a two-way knowledge transfer approach.

This also serves as a platform for MSEUF to enhance its practices of sustainability, apt for the University’s Sustainability Department headed by Lagman, who also expresses his gratitude to Enverga University, specifically to the Office of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for the continuous support for international ties and network.
