MSEUF completes full submission to UI GreenMetric 2024
The Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) completed its submission to the UI GreenMetric 2024, marking a significant step in its commitment to global sustainability standards, Oct. 29.
UI GreenMetric is an international ranking system that evaluates universities’ environmental responsibility. This achievement, led by University President Madame Naila E. Leveriza, OIC Dr. Benilda N. Villenas, and Vice President for External Relations Mr. Celso D. Jaballa, reflects MSEUF’s steadfast dedication to sustainable development.
The submission covered six key sustainability categories: Setting and Infrastructure (SI), led by Corporate Planning and Development Officer Leah T. Salas; Energy and Climate Change (EC), led by Engineering Dean Engr. Cielito V. Maligalig and General Services Director Engr. Ariel V. Nicolas; Waste (WS), led by Head of the Health and Safety Office, Arby S. Lagman; Water (WR), led by Pollution Control Officer Engr. Renato M. Vergara; Transportation (TR), led by Vice President for Finance Mr. Carlito M. Rodriguez; and Education and Research (ED), led by Research Publication, Incubation, and Utilization Center Director Roselyn A. Maaño and College of Computing and Multimedia Studies Dean Rodrigo Belleza Jr.
Contributing members also included Dr. Jennifer B. Reyes, OIC for Special Internationalization Projects, and Mr. John Rover R. Sinag, Web Content and Digital Engagement Officer.
Each category required an in-depth evaluation of MSEUF’s sustainability initiatives, involving multiple workshops and assessments to align with global benchmarks. Throughout the workshops, the Green Metrics Committee collaborated with administrators, faculty, and students, examining essential areas such as energy conservation, waste reduction, water usage efficiency, sustainable transportation, and educational programs focused on environmental stewardship.
This initiative reflects MSEUF’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), furthering the university’s vision of a resilient and environmentally-conscious campus. By actively engaging in the UI GreenMetric 2024, MSEUF is positioning itself as a national and international leader in sustainability within academia.
The results of the UI GreenMetric 2024 ranking will be announced this December in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and MSEUF eagerly anticipates showcasing the university’s environmental efforts on a global stage.
