MSEUF, CVM Indiasign training agreement for faculty development

Strengthening international academic collaboration and faculty development in tourism and hospitality education, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, through the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, signed a Training Agreement with Charutar Vidya Mandal University of Gujarat, India, on Sept. 28 at the AEC Little Theatre.

The Training Agreement forms part of the institutions’ existing memorandum of agreement and establishes responsibilities for a learning and workshop session intended to support faculty development, professional exchange and international academic engagement.

CIHTM Dean Dr. Maricel Herrera signed the agreement on behalf of MSEUF, while Dr. Sandeep Walia, professor of tourism and marketing, registrar and dean academics, represented Charutar Vidya Mandal University.

Under the agreement, MSEUF-CIHTM will organize and facilitate the learning session, manage the seminar venue, prepare and disseminate program and communication materials, and coordinate the participation of target faculty members and academic leaders. The college will also issue a certificate of appreciation or recognition to Walia for his contribution as resource speaker.

CVM, through Walia, will deliver a 40-minute learning session featuring relevant insights, examples and recommended practices appropriate for faculty development. The university will also participate in pre-event coordination and technical preparations required for the session.

Global Engagement and Linkages Head Dr. Jennifer Reyes; Program Chairs Rose Anne Reyes and Analuna Bonina; and CIHTM faculty members Carell Cerillo and John Vincent Ibaretta witnessed the signing.

The agreement further strengthened the continuing partnership between MSEUF and CVM by providing another platform for academic collaboration, professional learning and international exchange in tourism and hospitality education.
