Strengthening industry-academe partnerships for maritime education, Capt. Wildy Nagares, PhD, together with 2E Rio Henson Derecho, MSc MET, Capt. Crispino Portes and C/E Rodolfo Mariscotes, hosted an ocular visit by 88 Aces Maritime Services Inc. at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), July 17.
The onsite visit at the College of Maritime Education (CME) brought representatives from 88 Aces Maritime Services Inc. to the University to assess facilities and discuss opportunities for cooperation aimed at enhancing maritime training and career pathways for students.
The visit served as a significant step toward future collaborations between the company and the University, focusing on strengthening industry-academe partnerships for the future of maritime education.
University and company participants toured relevant campus facilities and exchanged preliminary plans for possible joint activities, training opportunities and other cooperative initiatives to support student readiness for the maritime sector.
The ocular visit directly supports the University’s goal of expanding industry partnerships to enhance practical learning and career readiness for maritime students. By engaging maritime employers in campus-based assessments and planning, the activity advances cooperative opportunities that align with outcomes-oriented and learning-by-doing educational approaches.
