The Political Science Society of the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation participated in the Pantawid-Gutom Pantry Community Extension Service (CES) held on April 17, reinforcing its commitment to civic engagement, social responsibility, and community service through direct outreach initiatives.

The activity gathered students, university volunteers, and organizers in a coordinated effort to extend assistance to the university site jeepney drivers in need. The Pantawid-Gutom Pantry CES served as a platform for fostering compassion and solidarity, particularly in addressing food insecurity and promoting community support within and beyond the University.

The initiative provided essential goods and relief items to 101 beneficiaries, reflecting the collective effort of student organizations and university stakeholders in responding to pressing social needs. The Political Science Society actively took part in the distribution process, contributing manpower support and assisting in the smooth facilitation of the activity.

Organizers emphasized that the program is part of the University’s continuing Community Extension Service efforts, which aim to instill volunteerism and social awareness among students. Through participation in the initiative, representatives of the Political Science Society were able to apply principles of public service and civic responsibility in a real-world setting.

Student leaders of the organization noted that the experience strengthened their sense of empathy and deepened their understanding of social realities, particularly issues related to hunger and economic hardship. The activity also reinforced their commitment to advocacies aligned with inclusive development and community empowerment.

The successful conduct of the Pantawid-Gutom Pantry CES demonstrated the importance of collaboration between student organizations, university units, and community stakeholders in addressing social concerns. It highlighted how collective action can create meaningful impact for vulnerable sectors.

The activity reflects the University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service, Unity, and Fortitude by encouraging active participation in community-centered initiatives. It also supports experiential learning by allowing students to engage directly in outreach programs that develop social awareness and civic competence.
