The Criminology Martial Arts Society of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted the “Hatid Lakas Kaalaman” program in Dalahican, Lucena City in 2026 to train Senior High School students in basic self-defense and safety awareness.

The activity introduced practical techniques that helped students improve confidence, discipline and preparedness in handling real-life situations.

Facilitators guided participants through exercises that emphasized situational awareness, responsible behavior and proper response to potential risks.

“This training helped us feel more confident and aware of how to handle unsafe situations,” a student participant said.

Organizers said the initiative aimed to empower students with essential skills that promote personal safety and accountability.

The program also reinforced the University’s commitment to community engagement by extending safety education beyond the campus.

The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Mindfulness and Fortitude by promoting awareness, resilience and community outreach. It also supported transformative learning by allowing students to apply knowledge in real-world safety contexts.
