Providing first aid assistance to sporting participants, 50 Enverga University–Student Nurses Association (EUSNA) officers and member volunteers served as first aid responders during Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) Intramurals activities from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
The volunteers worked at designated sporting venues, including the University Gymnasium, Twin Court and swimming pool. They assisted athletes, students, officials, spectators and other participants who experienced minor injuries, physical discomfort or other health concerns.
Their tasks included monitoring vital signs, applying cold compresses, guiding stretching and providing bandaging. Responders also coordinated with appropriate personnel when participants needed further medical attention.
The University Medical and Dental Clinic supplied first aid materials, while student volunteers contributed additional basic medical supplies.
The activity gave nursing students opportunities to apply their knowledge in actual event conditions and practice teamwork, responsiveness and professional responsibility.
The initiative supported MSEUF’s educational goals by connecting nursing knowledge with practical service to the university community. It reflected Service through first aid assistance and Unity through cooperation among student volunteers and the University Medical and Dental Clinic.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. Responders provided accessible first aid assistance for injuries and health concerns at sporting venues.
- SDG 4: Quality Education. Participation gave nursing students opportunities to apply their knowledge and practice first aid skills in actual event conditions.
