CMAS holds ribbon-tying activity for Women’s Month
The Criminology Martial Arts Society of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted a ribbon-tying activity in March 2026 in Lucena City to promote women’s empowerment, equality and solidarity during Women’s Month.
Participants tied colored ribbons in designated areas, with each color representing advocacy themes such as empowerment, protection, resilience and equality.
Organizers said the activity aimed to raise awareness of women’s rights while encouraging active student participation in gender advocacy initiatives.
“This simple activity allowed us to show our support for women’s empowerment in a meaningful way,” a student participant said.
The initiative created a visual display of support across the campus and emphasized the importance of collective action in promoting gender equality.
Organizers added that the activity encouraged unity among students and reinforced the importance of building inclusive and respectful communities.
The activity reflected the University’s core values of Unity, Mindfulness and Service by promoting awareness, inclusivity and shared responsibility in advocating for gender equality. It also supported transformative learning by encouraging students to engage in social issues and community awareness initiatives.
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality: The activity promoted awareness and support for women’s rights and empowerment.
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: It encouraged student participation in advocacy and social awareness initiatives.
- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Promoting equality and respect contributed to a more inclusive and just community.
