Student organizations meets for OSAlubong; finalizes preparations
Through a coordination meeting focused on welcoming freshmen and transferee students and ensuring effective campus assistance during the scheduled activity, student organizations finalized preparations for OSALubong, June 13–14.
During the meeting, Mr. Roderick Rabina discussed the preparation and operation of the organization’s Information Desk, which will assist new students who need guidance on campus locations and classroom directions. Members were encouraged to familiarize themselves with possible classroom areas to provide accurate assistance.
The meeting also covered the designated locations of organization booths, particularly within department areas. With organization banderitas discontinued, organizations will instead display 7 ft. x 4 ft. welcoming tarpaulins featuring their accomplishments and activities along the hallways to promote visibility among students.
Organizations were encouraged to make their Information Desks more engaging through interactive games, merchandise, and souvenir giveaways. Members were also reminded to wear organization shirts for easier identification during the activity.
The OSALUBONG activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. or earlier. Volunteers may be assigned to manage the Information Desk as long as their participation does not conflict with their class schedules. Organizations will provide their own tables, while chairs may be borrowed from the assigned personnel.
The preparation meeting established clear guidelines for the implementation of OSALUBONG and strengthened coordination among organization members. Through organized information desks, welcoming displays, and student-centered activities, organizations will be able to better assist freshmen and transferees as they begin their university experience.
