The Criminology Martial Arts Society of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation organized a CMAS Carnival booth during the 79th Foundation Anniversary celebration in 2026 to promote school spirit, student engagement and support for livelihood programs of persons deprived of liberty.

The booth featured carnival-style games that created a fun and safe space for students and visitors while encouraging participation and camaraderie during the university-wide celebration.

Organizers also used the event to promote advocacy by showcasing and selling handmade products from PDLs under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Lucena livelihood program.

“We wanted to celebrate while also giving meaning to our participation by supporting a cause,” a CMAS member said. “It showed that enjoyment and advocacy can go hand in hand.”

The initiative raised awareness on rehabilitation efforts and encouraged students to support socially responsible programs through meaningful engagement.

Organizers said the activity strengthened connections within the university community while reinforcing the organization’s commitment to service and advocacy.

The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Unity and Mindfulness by combining celebration with social responsibility and advocacy. It also supported transformative learning by allowing students to apply leadership, creativity and compassion in real-world initiatives.
